Micro Mosaic Janus Face Earrings in 18 Karat Gold
Janus, the god of Theater, is the visage celebrated by the masterful maker of this micro-mosaic made in Rome, circa 1820, in our favorite red & black. A set of three studs for a man’s tuxedo shirt, these were possibly made for an actor.
The finely twisted rope in Gold that frames the micro-mosaic is original to the studs, which we converted into earrings by attaching a top-grade Tahitian pearl at the bottom, with an Ceylonese diamond-cut white sapphire at the top. The third stud was converted in to a ring.
