Hand-made by a master goldsmith in his 80’s, in a now-rare filigree technique called “Double Coil”, the frames of each disc are in 950 sterling silver, but the coil itself, within the frame, is pure 1000 silver — literally spun silver.  Finally they are dipped in 24 karat Gold, sealed with a protective laquer to prevent fading.   A white sapphire cupped at the top, hung by an S hook, completes the enchantment.
